Misconceptions about Happiness
There are so many unhappy people all around us. The sad truth is these people could actually lead happier lives if they would give up the misconceptions they have about happiness. Each unhappy individual is mired in misconceptions about happiness. You can be happy if you just let go of these misconceptions of happiness.
The biggest misconception about happiness is money. We think that money will make us happy. Take a closer look. You will find a great number of rich people are unhappy while an equal number, if not more, poor people who are happy.
If your basic needs are taken care of, then money will not have a major impact on your happiness. Many people get into the rat race of making money which they never win. Result -unhappy people blaming the whole world for their unhappiness.Â
Another misconception about happiness is that you need someone to be happy. Remember happy comes from within. You control your happiness. While having family and friends does lead to contentment and happiness, you should not lay great emphasis on this. It is having love and appreciation that makes people happy and not the source of this love.
The next misconception about happiness is that you have to be lucky to be happy. Luck has nothing whatsoever to do with happiness. Open up yourself and your life completely to happiness and it shall come to you. Happiness makes a habit of coming from most unlikely places.
